Minnesota Softball provides divisions at five age groups. Those divisions are 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U. The age of the player on August 31st, 2026 is their playing age for the season. For example, player who is 10 years old on August 31st would play at the 10U level for the Fall Ball Season. A player who is 11 or 12 years old on August 31st would play at the 12U level for the Fall Ball Season. Minnesota Softball and USA Softball rules do not allow a player to "play down" to a younger age group for any reason. Players should play in the division that is their playing age. The Age Calculator on MNSoftball.com can help verify the age level and division your player is eligible for.
