Gertens Plant Pick-up on May 3.
Rally in the Valley Tournament on May 16, 17 and 18.
Fusion Celebration on June 11.
Fusion Fastpitch is a non-profit volunteer driven program that requires help from every family.
All Fusion families are required to help in one of the following ways:
Be a member of the Fusion Fastpitch Board of Directors.
Be a Head Coach.
Perform one (1) Volunteer Shift (DIBS) per season per player 8U or older with a maximum of two (2) Volunteer Shifts per family.
a. If a parent is unable to complete their Volunteer Shift (DIBS), it is incumbent on the parent to find a replacement.
b. All individuals performing a Volunteer Shift (DIBS) must be 14 years of age or older.
(Some Volunteer Shifts (DIBS) may require individuals to be older than 14 years of age.)
c. Each shift will be approximately four hours in length.
d. Volunteer shifts will be available for a few different events and dates.
(The majority of shifts will be to support the Rally in the Valley tournament on May 18-19.)
A $400 per player buyout option will be available to any family who is unable to fulfill their volunteer obligation.
We are using four different sites for the tournament:
Johnny Cake Ridge Park East (the pinwheel)
Eastview High School, fields 2 & 3 (Varsity and JV fields)
Johnny Cake Ridge Park West, fields 9, 11 & 12 (down by the aquatic center)
Concessions are available at all locations except the Eastview Varsity and JV fields.
Anyone 14 years old or older can complete your DIBS shift. Make sure they know who they are representing when they check in for your shift. We do ask if you are signing up for a closing shift to please send an adult for this one to help with cleanup.
At the beginning of your shift, check in at the Concession Stand at your field. Eastview Varsity and JV field prep will check in at the Concession Stand near the Aquatic Center.
Concessions:
Take/fulfill orders - collect payments
Understand and adhere to the following items, which will be on a sheet at each location:
Do NOT open any new boxes just for a specific type of candy, chip, etc. – especially near the end of the tournament as anything unopened can be returned.
Wear gloves when handling the buns for the hot dogs/brats/burgers, as well as the cheese.
Keep ALL menu items on display.
If we are about to run out of something and need more, send the runner for the item. Put the receipt and change back in the cashbox.
If we run out of an item and are not getting more, please cross off/cover with tape on all posted menus.
Refill the fridge/cooler with Pop/Gatorade if we get low and remember the rule above about opening new boxes.
(Pinwheel only) Keep one box of hot dogs/burgers in the fridge as it’s faster to cook once it’s defrosted a little
If a customer uses Venmo, request that they put the concession location in the “What’s this for?” (i.e. Pinwheel, Field 9, Lac Lavon)
Runner:
Runs items between main locations when needed for field equipment, umpires, etc
Runs to Sam’s Club or stores when needed to restock supplies for concessions.
At all other times, helps with the running of the concession stand as a concession worker.
Grill worker:
Ensure there are enough hot dogs/burgers grilled for the concessions.
Anticipate rushes will happen ahead of when games are ending.
Slowdown in cooking when lunch/dinner rushes are nearly complete
Help with cleaning and stowing grill at the end of the day.
Field Prep:
Rake the fields between games
If the lines are worn away enough after a game, touch up or completely chalk new lines.
Keep an eye on the games for any incidents to assist with site coordinator
